Hi, I'm Courtney.
LCSW · Magnolia Therapy CenterIf you're here, something probably needs to change — and you're ready to do something about it. Whether you're carrying old trauma, drowning in anxiety, or you've just hit a wall you can't push through alone, this is a good place to land. My approach is direct and practical, but I'm not here to make you uncomfortable for the sake of it. Sarcasm is my love language, and I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation — not a performance.
I knew in 10th grade.
Psychology was the only class that felt urgent to me. I wasn't just interested in how people think — I wanted to understand how they survive, how they carry impossible things, and what it actually takes to help them set those things down. That curiosity never left.
First responders and veterans aren't just a specialty — they're my family.
My father is a Desert Storm Army combat veteran who was diagnosed with PTSD. I watched him struggle for years, and I watched our family struggle alongside him — navigating a VA system that wasn't built for clarity or ease. I became his advocate because someone had to be. That experience taught me more about what untreated trauma does to a person, and to the people who love them, than any textbook ever could. I come from a long line of people who serve — both grandfathers, my uncles, my father. My grandmother was a nurse and my first real hero. When someone in uniform sits across from me, I'm not treating them as a clinical category. I understand the culture, the silence, and the reasons they've waited this long.
I know what it feels like to need support, too.
My own history with anxiety — the pressure to perform, the replaying, the exhaustion of looking fine on the outside — is part of why I work the way I do. I'm also a cancer survivor. Navigating a serious diagnosis while continuing to show up for everyone else in your life teaches you things about vulnerability, fear, and the importance of having someone in your corner that you simply can't learn any other way. I bring all of that into the room, along with humor, honesty, and a genuine belief that people are more capable of change than they give themselves credit for.
"Healing doesn't have to be scary or stuffy — it can be empowering, even uplifting."
Joining the practice this summer
We're intentional about who joins our team. Alyssa Hahn is a natural extension of Magnolia's mission — a specialist who brings a unique background and a genuine gift for connecting with the clients she serves.

Alyssa Hahn
BS · Graduate Intern · Under Clinical SupervisionAlyssa brings something rare to the therapy room: she's spent years in the classroom before stepping into the counseling space. As a former middle school teacher, she understands the world of adolescents from the inside out — not just clinically, but lived. She knows what it feels like to watch a student shut down, act out, or quietly struggle while trying to look like everything is fine.
That background shapes everything about how she works. Alyssa specializes in supporting teens ages 11–18 who are navigating anxiety, depression, identity questions, perfectionism, or the persistent feeling of not quite fitting in. She creates a space where teens can finally feel heard, understood, and accepted — without judgment, without lectures, and without pressure to have it all figured out.
Parents and teens trust Alyssa because she's lived in both worlds. She understands what teens experience day-to-day in school, social life, and at home — and she uses that insight to help them navigate life's challenges with growing confidence and resilience.
Alyssa also specializes in working with teachers and educators experiencing burnout. She knows firsthand what it costs to pour everything into a classroom — and she offers a space where educators can finally receive the same care they spend their days giving to others.
Areas of FocusAvailability: Alyssa is currently completing her graduate internship under clinical supervision at Magnolia Therapy Center. Upon graduating in May 2026 and obtaining registration with the Florida Board, she will be accepting new clients beginning June 2026. All sessions are provided under clinical supervision.
